Bathtub Installation
Bathtub installation across the DMV. Serving DC, Maryland, and Virginia from Suitland, MD.
A tub is the heaviest fixture in the bathroom and the least forgiving to install. It has to be dead level, properly supported, and connected to drain and overflow lines that will never be seen again once the surround goes up.
We install tubs across the DC metro: standard alcove tubs, deep soakers, and freestanding tubs with their exposed, no-room-for-error plumbing.
Tub work we do
From a like-for-like replacement to the centerpiece freestanding tub in a renovation, the fundamentals are the same: support, level, connections, and sealing, all done before anything is closed in.
- Alcove tub replacement, old tub out and hauled away
- Deep soaker and jetted tub installation
- Freestanding tubs with floor-mounted or wall tub fillers
- Drain, overflow, and trap assemblies set and tested
- Proper bedding and support so the tub never flexes
What to expect on the day
When we arrive, the first thing we do is listen and look, because the visible symptom is not always the real problem. We diagnose the actual cause, explain it to you in plain language, and give you an honest price before any work starts. You approve it, and only then do we begin. When the work is done, we test it, walk you through what we did, and leave the space clean. That is the same process on every job, whether it is a small repair or a major replacement.
Whatever the job, you get one licensed Master Plumber from start to finish, an honest price before we begin, and a plumber who cleans up after himself. Ready to get it handled? Request a free quote or call us at any hour. Want to see the kind of work we do? Take a look at our recent projects.
Support now or cracks later
A tub set without proper bedding flexes under every use, and flexing is what cracks tubs, breaks seals, and opens leaks into the floor below. We bed and support every tub the way its manufacturer specifies.
Then we test the drain and overflow with real water before the surround closes, because finding a leak now costs nothing and finding it later costs a ceiling.
- Bedded and supported to manufacturer spec
- Drain and overflow water-tested before close-in
- Freestanding filler work done clean

Why the DMV calls Jackson Plumbing
There are plenty of plumbers in the Washington metro. What sets us apart is not a slogan, it is how the work actually gets done. When you call, a real person picks up, 24 hours a day. When we come out, we give you a real arrival window instead of a vague promise to show up sometime. And when we diagnose the problem, we put an honest price on it before we touch anything, so there are never surprise line items on the invoice.
Brandon Jackson has spent nearly three decades in this trade, and he built the business around a simple idea: treat people the way you would want to be treated in your own home. That means explaining what is wrong in plain language, giving you honest options instead of the most expensive one, and leaving the space cleaner than we found it. It is why so much of our work comes from repeat customers and neighbor-to-neighbor referrals across DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
We are a licensed Master Plumber, license PLM40000116, fully credentialed in Maryland (109495), Virginia (2710083375), and with WSSC (P-83640), plus ASSE certification and a BBB A-rating. That licensing matters: the code-sensitive work, the permitting, and the connections all get done right, so your plumbing passes inspection and holds up for years. Whether the job at your home is a quick repair or a major replacement, you get the same experienced plumber and the same honest standard.
It also means we stand behind what we do. If something we installed or repaired ever acts up, you call us and we come back, because our reputation across the DMV is worth more than any single invoice. That is the difference between a plumber who is here today and a plumber who has spent nearly thirty years building a name he intends to keep. We would rather do one job right and earn a customer for the next twenty years than rush through three and lose all of them.
Honest pricing, no hidden fees
The part people dread most about calling a plumber is the bill, because too many outfits hide fees, pad the invoice, or quote one number and charge another. We do not work that way. You get a clear, honest price before any work begins, and that is the price you pay. No surprise line items, no mystery charges, no upsell to the most expensive option when a simpler fix will do. If we think a repair will hold, we tell you, even when a replacement would earn us more. That kind of straight dealing is rare in this trade, and it is exactly why our customers keep calling and keep referring their neighbors. When you are ready to get it handled, call (202) 840-1998 any hour, or tell us what is going on and Brandon will get right back to you.

How long does a tub replacement take?
A straight alcove swap typically runs a day on the plumbing side. Renovation installs depend on the project’s pace, and we coordinate with your contractor’s schedule.
Can my floor support a big soaker tub?
A filled soaker plus a person is a lot of weight. We check what is under the floor and tell you honestly if the joists need attention before the tub goes in, not after.
What is involved with a freestanding tub?
The drain comes up through the floor at an exact spot, and the filler mounts to floor or wall with its plumbing exposed. Everything shows, so everything has to be precise. That is plumber work, not guess work.
Do you haul away the old tub?
Yes. Old tubs, including cast iron ones that take some persuading, leave with us.
Can you reuse my existing drain location?
When the new tub’s drain lines up, yes. When it does not, we relocate the trap and drain to match. We tell you which situation you have before work begins.
